About Our Name
Why name the company "HE IS?" Simply put, this was our way of pointing to Him. As John the Baptist said in John 3:30, "He must increase but I must decrease." Our name is to emphasize that Jesus' importance and influence should grow while our own should diminish.
The Rest of the Story
The ancient Hebrew name for "I Am" as found in the Bible is "Yahweh" or "YHWH." This name is often referred to as the Tetragrammaton, which means a four-letter word. It is the personal name of God in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). In Hebrew, it is written as יהוה.
The meaning of the name "Yahweh" is often associated with the idea of God's self-existence and eternal nature. When God revealed this name to Moses in the burning bush (Exodus 3:14), He said, "I am who I am" (or "I am that I am"), which signifies His timeless and unchanging nature. This name is central to the identity of God in the Abrahamic religions.
The third-person singular version of the name "Yahweh" or "I Am" would be "He Is." In Christian theology, "He is" is often used to refer to the divine being.
In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jesus is speaking to His disciples, and is making a profound statement about His identity and His relationship with God the Father. To further expand on this:
In the context of John 14:6, Jesus is affirming His divinity and the central role He plays in the Christian faith as the means by which individuals can come into a right relationship with God, the Father. It reinforces the idea of "He is" in the sense that Jesus is declaring His identity as part of the Godhead and the way to eternal life with God.
